If your Private Information may have been impacted in the Data Incident involving Central Maine Healthcare and Central Maine Medical Center that occurred March through June of 2025, and you were sent notice, you may be entitled through Settlement Class Member Benefits from a settlement.

A Court authorized the Notice. It is not a solicitation from a lawyer.

  • A $1,368,025 settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit against Central Maine Healthcare d/b/a Central Maine Healthcare (“CMHC”) and Central Maine Medical Center (“CMMC”) (together, “CMH” or “Defendants”) related to the potential unauthorized access to Settlement Class Members’ Private Information from approximately March to June of 2025 (“Data Incident”). Private Information means information collected and/or maintained by Defendants, including names combined with any other type of private health information or non-public personally identifiable information.
  • The Settlement Class includes all individuals residing in the United States whose Private Information may have been impacted in the Data Incident and to whom Defendants sent an individual notification that they were affected by the Data Incident.
  • If you are a member of the Settlement Class, you can submit a Claim Form for the following Settlement Class Member Benefits:

Cash Payment A – Documented Losses: You may submit a Claim Form and provide reasonable documentation for losses traceable to the Data Incident for up to $5,000 per Settlement Class Member; OR

Cash Payment B – Alternate Cash: Instead of Cash Payment A, without providing documentation, you may submit a Claim Form to receive a pro rata (a legal term meaning equal share) cash payment in the estimated amount of $50; AND

Medical Records Monitoring: In addition to Cash Payment A (Documented Losses) or Cash Payment B (Alternate Cash), you may also submit a Claim Form to receive one year of free Medical Records Monitoring.

Your Cash Payment will be subject to pro rata increase or decrease depending on the total value of all Valid Claims submitted.

Injunctive Relief: Defendants are implementing additional security measures following the Data Incident.

Ask to be Excluded

Get no Settlement Class Member Benefits. Keep your right to file your own lawsuit against the Released Parties about the Released Claims that are released by the Settlement in this lawsuit.

Stay in the Settlement but tell the Court why you do not agree with the Settlement. You will still be bound by the Settlement if the Court approves it.
